L ast year’s report demonstrated the resilience of Canadian angel investment activity in 2020, the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic. Fears were ex- pressed in the early months of the pandemic that angel investment would collapse, which would result in a ma- jor decline in entrepreneurial activity. Angel investment
activity did drop in Q2 and Q3 as the economy sharply contracted following the introduction of government re- strictions on individuals and businesses in an attempt to stop the spread of the virus. However, angel invest- ment activity bounced back in Q4 as the economy par- tially recovered and angels adjusted to investing online.
