2022 Report on Angel Investing in Canada 110822

INTRODUCTION Angel Investment Data Sources

68

Information in this, and previous, angel investing reports is based on data provided by angel organizations and funds. NACO's 2021 investment survey was provided to 70 angel groups, funds, and other organizations. These organizations included current NACO members, angel groups with lapsed membership, and other non-member organizations identified as having an involvement with angel investing. Organizations were initially contacted in January 2021, with multiple follow-ups from February to late March 2021. The survey was in three parts: (i) ques- tions on various aspects of the angel organization char- acteristics; (ii) questions on each of the investments that members made in 2021; and (iii) open-ended ques- tions on the changes in the investment activity of their members during the pandemic, changes in the way that the organization supported its members in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which of these changes it subsequently dropped and the changes that have been maintained.
