Permalution is a cleantech startup led by a team of women united by a shared vision: promoting environmental conservation via the creation of a new type of water source. Permalution’s technology helps enable sustainable irrigation, fog harvesting, and horizontal water collection. In the U.S. alone, wildfires attributable to extreme drought situations caused an economic loss of $400 billion in 2018, creating immeasurable biodiversity loss. According to the UN, approximately ten football fields of land are burned by wildfires each minute. Lack of access to water and water scarcity or drought are major issues worldwide. Permalution’s solution is a new type of water source derived from fog. The company’s dual product configuration of water radar and fog catcher can collect 150-400 liters of water per day, enough to support a family of four to six without altering ecosystems.
