Prairies have the smallest share of dollars invested (3.7% and 2.6% respectively). In contrast to 2021, the Northern Territories did not record any investment in 2022. How- ever, Northern Ontario dominates on a per capita basis and has done so every year (2019-2022). In 2022 its per capita dollar investment was nine times higher than that of Southern Ontario which has the second-highest per capita amount invested. For the past three years, in the absence of data from the Northern Territories, the Prai- ries region has had the lowest amount invested on a per capita basis.

Western Canada is divided into British Columbia (BC) and the Prairies regions (AB, SK and MB). The North- ern Territories (YT, NT and NU) are represented as one RDA region. Atlantic Canada (NB, PE, NS, and NL) is also represented as one RDA region. Southern Ontario dominates in terms of the amount in- vested, accounting for 47.8% of the total in 2022. Over the period 2019-2022, Southern Ontario has been in first or second position in terms of its share of dollars invested. British Columbia (15.6%) saw the largest in- crease in proportion of amount invested this year and is now in second position. Northern Ontario (15.3%) is in third position in 2022, followed by Quebec (15.0%) which, in two of the past four years, claimed the larg- est share of investment dollars. Atlantic region and the
