Over half the organizations (66%) that responded to the survey extended membership to corporate entities. 15 organizations provided fee information, 12 organizations reported charging individual investors a fee, and 10 orga- nizations reported charging a corporate fee. Corporate members are typically professional services firms (e.g., law, accounting, etc.) that may provide sponsorship and other support to the organizations, typically offering pro bono services to businesses that are seeking, or who successfully raise capital, with the objective of devel- oping long-term commercial relationships with them. Fees for corporations are typically higher than those for individuals, with 80% of organizations charging corpo- rate membership fees above $1,000, compared to 58% of organizations charging individual membership fees above $1,000.
