Successful Indian Startup Relocates to Toronto to Access North American Customers and Angel Investors

D uring 2022, the founders of ibentos, Jaspinder Bhati and Harpreet Singh relocated the global head office of their virtual event hosting platform to To- ronto in order to scale up their business faster by ac- cessing capital and the booming North American mar- ket for virtual and hybrid event platforms. Everything has taken much longer than expected, but 12 months after the founders presented to a virtual screening event, ibentos is gaining traction in both its fundraising efforts and new customer relationships.
At the same time, their business in India and Asia con- tinues to thrive and grow, almost doubling sales in 2022.
They landed their first Canadian customer in January 2023. The pipeline of opportunities is huge and the cus- tomers acknowledge market fit for their platform.
