Requity Homes's Founder Amy Ding and Highline Beta's Venture Studio Bring Home Ownership into Reach for Canadians
BY HIGHLINE BETA
A my Ding is the CEO and founder of Requity Homes. We first met Amy when she was at RBC Ventures (now RBCx), working on building new ventures in the real estate and proptech industries. In February 2020 she left RBC to start Requity Homes. Requity Homes is a rent-to-own platform that helps Canadians achieve their dream of home ownership. The company qualifies candidates rigorously, and then works with them to find the right home. Requity Homes purchases the home and rents it to the customer, while helping the customer save additional money for the
eventual purchase. The goal is to enable customers to purchase the home from Requity Homes within a few years at a fair price. There are many Canadians that are underserved his- torically. These aspiring home buyers have the financial means to afford a home yet still cannot qualify for a traditional mortgage due to credit history, lack of down payment or self-employment.
