it accounted for 42.6% of the total in 2022, a slightly lower share than in 2020 and 2021. The Western re- gion had the second-highest share of investments, at 33.5%, a share that has risen over the past four years. Northern Ontario (9.6%) had the third-highest share of investments in 2022, followed by Quebec (7.2%). The Prairies and Atlantic Canada (3.7% and 3.4%, respec- tively) have the lowest shares of investments, which has been the case for the past three years (Figure 25). But here again, Northern Ontario dominates investment ac- tivity with the highest number of investments on a per capita basis, followed by British Columbia and South- ern Ontario (Table 10). There are considerable year-on-year fluctuations in each region’s share of investment activity. However, two clear trends are apparent. First, British Columbia has seen a significant increase in both its share of dol- lars invested since 2019 and also its share of invest- ments. Second, Quebec’s share of both dollars invested
