A ngel organizations that reported their investment activity made 653 investments in 2022, investing a total of $166.2 million (Table 7). Compared with the in- vestment activity of the angel organizations that reported in 2021, which was supplemented by publicly available in- formation on the investments of those organizations that did not provide this information, this represents a slight increase (3%) in the number of investments and a much larger decrease in the amount invested (-37%). Taking a longer-term perspective, the number of investments in 2022 was the highest ever reported, while the amount invested was higher than in nine of the past 10 years.
