Representation and Education: Strategies for Activating Women in the Investment Ecosystem

I n 2019, Accelerate Okanagan (AO) launched the in- augural OKGN Angel Summit program with the objec- tive of making it easier for companies to access capital and for investors to find investible companies. After the first year of the program, it was apparent that women were missing from the picture. Only 21% of the Top 24 companies had women on their leadership team, just three women participated as investors and there were no women on stage pitching at the Finale.
